In
respect of the content of this site generally...
I cannot vouch for the accuracy of much of what follows. Wherever I have cast
back in my memory to those teenage times I have tried to be honest, but memories
are strange beasts. I have, wherever possible, checked with friends who were
with me at the time, but who is to say they remember any better than I. If at
the end of the day I have left you with at least an impression of what life was
like during the seventies then it's probably been worth it.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
They
would walk the strip at night and dream they
saw their names in lights....

Steve Priest, Brian Connolly, Mick Tucker
and Andy Scott. It was never the same after they split up. That first Monday
when Tony Blackburn played FUNNY FUNNY as his record of the week I was hooked. I
set the alarm for an hour earlier so I wouldn't miss it the rest of the week.
Then they got heavier and heavier. I was a sixteen with the Sixteens, but turned
over to Burn on the Flame - What a great year 1974 was! And the Hammersmith, for
the LEVEL HEADED TOUR! What a gig that was! I got Steve's can of Skol, and
Johnny Mogs got a bit of carpet and abuse from the stage crew.
